How we work

01
Thought Leadership

ARC_ESM serves as an independent supply chain strategic partner to the Federal Ministry of Health, its agencies, State departments and donors. Through diagnostics, scorecards, policy papers, conferences and advocacy, we generate evidence that shapes supply chain priorities and positions governments and partners to invest in the right interventions at the right time.

02
Advisory

Direct support to governments and institutions to co-design strategies, policy frameworks, PPP models and implementation plans. Engagements are structured to transfer ownership to the client: ARC_ESM facilitates; it does not prescribe.

03
Brokering

Connecting governments to the relationships, resources and financing they cannot access on their own: matching States to private sector partners and financing, linking institutions to academic and technical resources through the CoE, and facilitating market-shaping transactions through the GPF.

Resource platforms

01
Private Sector Membership (PSM)

An organized membership of Nigerian pharmaceutical manufacturers, logistics firms and technology companies providing financing, expertise, models and CSR resources, and working directly with governments.

02
Center of Excellence (CoE)

International and local institutions driving supply chain education, research and certification, with partners including Arizona State University, MIT/Zaragoza Logistics Center and ISCEA.

03
Expert Pool

A pan-African network of 200+ certified supply chain and public health specialists, available as volunteers or paid consultants and deployed on project demand.

Where we work

ARC_ESM’s primary market is Nigeria, the largest and most complex health supply chain environment in sub-Saharan Africa.

We currently work across 11 States with active government relationships – Kano, Yobe, Kaduna, Nasarawa, Niger, Sokoto, Gombe, Borno, Bauchi, Lagos, Ekiti – and are working towards full 36+1 coverage by 2028.

Pan-African expansion from 2027 will begin with anglophone West Africa (Ghana, Sierra Leone) and East Africa (Kenya), building on our Expert Pool network in Kenya, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Benin Republic and Senegal.

Beyond health: food supply chains

ARC_ESM applies the same model to food systems. The Food Supply Chain Cassava Marketplace, launched in Lafia, Nasarawa State, on 31 March 2026, connects cassava farmers directly to markets through a coordinated, data-driven system.

Six supply chain elements

ARC Africa's Supply Chain Sustainability Model describes six elements that ministries of health need to master for sustainable supply chains:

01
Strategy

A robust supply chain strategy with buy-in from government, donors and implementing partners.

02
Improvement Roadmap

Coordinated actions, investments and initiatives to reach strategic targets.

03
Governance

Multi-disciplinary structures for alignment, ownership and accountability.

04
Policies & Research

Evidence-based policies that guide funding and implementation.

05
Solution Proposals

New thinking from supply chain experts and private sector partners.

06
Budgets & Investment Cases

Clear funding requirements for government and donors.
